Old
World Construction
The entire Brazil Baroque collection is crafted
from beautifully grained Brazilian antique hardwood using 18th and
19th century joinery techniques. Each piece is a compilation of individual
timbers that have been carefully selected to come together as one holistic
offering. All of our furniture is hand-cut and handmade.
No
computer numerical control or mass manufacturing machinery is
employed in production. Hand detail distressing is accomplished
by using spoke shaving, sanding, and gouging; wormholes complement
these techniques.
Finishes
Each one-of-kind piece is either stained or painted in
a polychrome finish by a team of artisans. Our exclusive seven
layer polychrome painting process is accomplished by using centuries
old traditional, family-held techniques. The paint layers are sanded
and hand-worked to give each piece a remarkably true aged appearance.
Hardware
Our hardware is specially designed not only to fit the style of the furniture,
but also to handle the weight and density of the hardwoods. This attention
to detail is essential for durability.
In
an effort to recreate the feeling and authenticity of the original
colonial pieces, all of our hardware is hand-forged from raw
iron.
Our
Commitment
Brazil
Baroque is deeply committed to the
integrity of our products and recycling rare Brazilian hardwoods
into handcrafted pieces of art. There is no compromise in the construction
and authenticity of each and every piece in our collection. It
is our goal to not only decorate and furnish homes, but that our
furnishings become family treasures to be passed on to succeeding
generations.
